Consultation has concluded; thank you for your participation!
Consultations centered around the draft Land Use Planning Regulations and Interpretive Guidelines. Check out the What We Heard Report to learn more about the consultation.
The document below is a draft of the Interpretive Guidelines. A requirement of the Cabinet Directive on Regulation is to provide clear information to stakeholders; it is intended to outline the step-by-step process of how the draft Regulations will be consistently administered. They will replace existing development review processes currently found in select field unit policies and plans. As we work towards implementation, supporting tools and procedures will be developed. In Parks Canada places where no regulations exist, they will serve as the main policy direction on reviewing permit applications until the draft LUPR can be promulgated under the applicable legislation.

Your feedback is important to Parks Canada. Thank you for taking the time to learn about the proposed National Planning Permit Program and sharing your thoughts. The insight gathered through this consultation will be reviewed, analyzed and carefully considered as the draft Land Use Planning Regulations and draft Interpretive Guidelines are finalized and prepared for the federal regulatory approval process.
We encourage you to stay informed and keep an eye out for updates.
